Opt Out of Credit Bureau-Based Mail Solicitations
Tired of sorting through endless credit offers in your mailbox? If you’re fed up with receiving unsolicited credit solicitations from companies you’ve never heard of, there’s a way to stop credit bureaus from sharing your name and information.

If you’ve recently had your credit checked for a personal loan or mortgage, there’s a good chance the credit bureaus have sold your information. Usually, within 24 hours of your credit being pulled, your contact details end up on a “trigger lead” list and get sold to creditors and insurers, which is how those unwanted calls start. CorePlus is here to help and provide you with options.
Opt-Out Options
- Opt-out from having personal credit information shared for five (5) years
- Opt-out from receiving firm offers permanently
- Opt-in and reestablish eligibility to receive firm offers
- This option is for members who have previously completed an opt-out request
If you opt-out, and if Equifax, Experian, Innovis, and TransUnion, (collectively known as the “Consumer Credit Reporting Companies”) maintains a credit file for you, and is able to locate your credit file based on the information you provide, you will no longer be included in firm offer lists provided by these four consumer credit reporting companies.
To stop receiving mail solicitations, you can either visit optoutprescreen.com or call 888-567-8688.
To stop receiving phone solicitations, please visit donotcall.gov or call 888-382-1222.
Still Receiving Unwanted Solicitations?
You may still receive mailings from businesses that don’t rely on credit bureaus to manage their mailing lists. These could include catalogs, affinity groups, or your alma mater. Unfortunately, you’ll need to reach out to these organizations directly if you’d like to have your name removed from their lists.
